The surface is smooth and durable. Small scratches can be easily sanded out with fine-grit sandpaper (240+) so the board keeps its natural appearance for years. Store it standing upright when not in use — saves space and extends its lifespan.

From what age can my child use a balance board?
From 12 months — but what your child does with it changes with age. A balance board for a 1-year-old is used differently than for a 3-year-old: a child of 1–2 years sits in it, crawls over it, or uses it as a bridge in play. From 3 years they begin standing and wobbling. From 5–6 years they use it for more challenging balance games.
The board length of 76 cm matches the natural foot span of a child at the primary age of use — they can stand stably with feet at each end without stretching. That gives the right balance between challenge and control. Tested to 65 kg, so it stays relevant well into later childhood.
What is the difference between cork and felt?
Mainly sound and surface. Cork is naturally non-slip and gives firm grip on smooth floors — the most sensory-rich choice with a warm, organic feel under bare feet. Grey felt is sound-dampening — it absorbs the thud and slides more easily on carpet. If you live in a flat with neighbours below, felt is the practical choice. Both protect the floor and both are equally durable.
Is the balance board safe for indoor use?
Yes. CE certified toy tested and approved to current safety standards. All edges are rounded, the base material is fixed with no loose edges, and the surface is free from harmful materials.
