Teenage Hut Collection – House Bed 90×200 in Solid Pine

The Teenage Hut Collection is a range of solid pine teenage house beds for modern UK bedrooms. Nine wooden house beds in 90×200 cm with a 165 cm canopy frame — in two series designed around colour, character, and the room that belongs to the person sleeping in it.

Your room is the only place in the house that runs entirely by your rules.

Not the kitchen. Not the living room. Not the hallway where someone's always passing through. Your room is the one space where the decisions are yours — what goes on the walls, what stays on the floor, what the light feels like at 11pm when everything else has stopped.

The Teenage Hut Collection by Barin Toys was built for that room. Nine solid pine house beds in two series — each one a different answer to the same question: what does your space say about who you are?

What makes this a teenage house bed — not a children's one

The house bed has spent years being associated with young children. Soft colours, nursery proportions, the suggestion of a fairy tale. That is not what this is.

The Teenage Hut takes the same architectural idea — a pitched roofline frame that defines the space around the bed — and rebuilds it from scratch for a different person entirely. No safety rails. No childish scale. No design language borrowed from a three-year-old's room and resized.

What remains is the structure: a 165 cm canopy frame in 100% solid Baltic pine that creates a room-within-a-room effect. A sleeping zone with its own geometry, its own enclosure, its own psychological logic. A space that says: this is where the outside world stops.

Built to last. Not to be replaced.

Every bed in the collection shares the same construction. 100% solid Baltic pine — no MDF, no particle board, no laminates. A frame that supports up to 130 kg and is built for the kind of real daily use that most furniture quietly fails after two or three years.

Solid wood slatted base included — no box spring required. 20 cm of under-bed clearance for storage. Standard Euro single 90×200 cm mattress fit across all nine models — or free size adjustment to UK single 90×190 cm on request.

All painted finishes use water-based, non-toxic eco-paints with zero off-gassing. The Nordic Nature edition is completely untreated — 100% chemical-free solid pine. The parent gets solid pine, 130 kg capacity, non-toxic finish and a frame that doesn't need replacing in three years. The teenager gets a room that looks like it was chosen, not assigned.

Two series. Nine beds. One question.

The collection is divided into two series — not by price or quality, but by what kind of statement you want to make. Nine single wooden house beds in solid pine, identical construction across all models. The difference is entirely in what the colour communicates.

The Core Edits – architecture over statement

Four finishes chosen for staying power, not trend cycles. White that never gets old. Anthracite that never gets loud. Black that never needs to explain itself. Natural pine that never gets manufactured.

The Core Edits are the teenage house bed for those who want their room to look like a decision, not an accident. Each finish is designed as an architectural base for colour drenching — from the white frame that cuts sharply against a boldly drenched room, to the natural pine that disappears into it when painted to match, keeping only the wood grain as visible texture.

Four models: Pure Minimalist (Arctic White) · Urban Modern (Anthracite Grey) · Black Loft (Industrial Black) · Nordic Nature (Natural Pine)

The Identity Edits – colour as communication

Five colours that are not neutral by any definition. Each one designed around a specific psychological type — a genuine way of being a teenager in the world. Not a mood board. Not an aesthetic. A recognition.

Forest Green for the Old Soul — dark academia bedroom ideas. Blackberry Purple for the Dreamer — purple teenage girl bedroom. Terracotta for the Nomad — boho teen bedroom. Midnight Navy for the Intellectual — navy blue teen bedroom ideas. Sage Green for the Zen Enthusiast — sage green teen bedroom in Japandi style.

Not sure which series?

A simple way to decide: if the teenager knows exactly what their room should feel like but hasn't found the right frame — start with the Core Edits. If they have a strong sense of who they are but struggle to find anything that actually reflects it — go straight to the Identity Edits and let them read the descriptions themselves. The right one will feel recognised, not chosen.

If two feel right — the conversation that follows is worth having. That is part of the point.

The hut. The sanctuary. The room that's actually yours.

Adolescence is the period in life when the question of identity is most urgent and most unresolved simultaneously. The room is not a trivial part of that. It is where the work happens — where you retreat to recover, to think, to be nobody's version of yourself but your own.

The Teenage Hut Collection was designed with that in mind. Not as a product range, but as a genuine response to what teenagers actually need from their space: architecture that respects their complexity, construction that doesn't condescend to their age, and a colour choice that treats their room like what it is — a statement about who they are becoming. Nine beds. Two series. One philosophy. All orders include free delivery to your door.

UK mattress sizing: All beds in the Teenage Hut Collection are designed for Euro single 90×200 cm. Standard UK single mattresses are 90×190 cm — slightly shorter. We offer free professional size adjustment to 90×190 cm: simply leave a note at checkout or contact us before ordering. No extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age is the Teenage Hut Collection designed for?

The collection is designed for teenagers — broadly ages 12 to 18, but the more accurate answer is: anyone old enough to have an opinion about their room and the autonomy to act on it. The 90×200 cm mattress size and 165 cm canopy height are proportioned for a teenager's body and a teenager's room, not a young child's. There are no safety rails and no nursery-scale design elements.

What is the difference between the Core Edits and the Identity Edits?

The Core Edits — white, anthracite, black and natural pine — are architectural and neutral. Each finish is designed around a specific colour drenching approach. The Identity Edits — forest green, blackberry purple, terracotta, midnight navy and sage green — make a bolder, more specific statement. Each Identity colour is built around a psychological type. Construction, dimensions and load capacity are identical across both series.

Is this a solid wood bed or MDF?

Every bed in the Teenage Hut Collection is built from 100% solid Baltic pine. No MDF, no particle board, no laminates. Solid pine is structurally superior — it doesn't flex, chip at the edges or lose integrity over years of real use. The load capacity is 130 kg across all nine models.

Does this fit a UK single mattress?

The standard fit is Euro single 90×200 cm. UK single mattresses are 90×190 cm — slightly shorter. We offer free professional size adjustment to 90×190 cm: simply leave a note at checkout or contact us before ordering. No extra charge.

Will the canopy height fit in a standard bedroom?

The canopy frame stands at 165 cm. Standard UK ceiling height is 240–260 cm, giving 75–95 cm of clearance above the frame. The bed fits comfortably in any standard teenage bedroom. For rooms with sloping ceilings — common in UK terraced and semi-detached houses — contact us with your measurements and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Are the paints safe?

All painted finishes use water-based, non-toxic eco-paints with zero off-gassing. No solvents, no harsh chemicals. The Nordic Nature edition in the Core Edits is completely untreated — 100% chemical-free solid pine with no coatings of any kind.

What tools are needed for assembly?

A hex key is included with every order. A screwdriver is recommended for faster assembly. Most builds take 60–90 minutes with two people. Full illustrated assembly instructions sent to your email — no paper waste.
